Thank you for the opportunity to share the positive experience I had working with Melissa Smith. I was introduced to Melissa by Cindy Bourdier with Coldwell Banker, who was the property manager for my home in. Waikoloa. Cindy shared that Melissa is a trusted and experienced real estate agent, who she believed would be a great fit to assist me with the sale of my property. Melissa first introduced herself to me via email, which was very friendly and warm and set the tone for our working relationship. From the very start I advised Melissa that the process of selling the property was intimidating and overwhelming for me. Melissa assured me that she would be right by my side and would guide me through every step of the process. Although we were on different islands, Melissa communicated with me daily by phone, email or text. Sometimes we communicated 2-3 times a day. Melissa was so patient and understanding, sensitive my needs and often anticipated what I needed clarifying. Melissa explained every detail and helped me complete required documentation. She even reviewed the document that the buyer would have to complete. Melissa never made me feel that questions I asked were unimportant and she always got back to me that same day or the next day at the very latest. Melissa often gave me a heads up about emails I would be receiving, ie, Fidelity and explained what was needed from me. I decided to sell the property as is and after inspecting the condition of the property several times, Melissa made excellent suggestions to make the property more presentable. Melissa’s suggestions were always reasonable and made sense. She always reached out to reliable contacts to get the work done right. Melissa and her husband who had great skills and expertise , worked as a team on some of the improvements. Melissa told me that she shared with a fellow real estate agent that my property was for sale. Her colleague happened to have a client who looking for a house in Waikoloa. Because Melissa mentioned that sale of the house to another real estate agent, we received an offer before the property was listed. I was also impressed that Melissa prepared verbiage for a listing, just in case the offer fell through. I feel that Melissa is a very experienced real estate agent that understands the business. Not only is Melissa efficient, reliable, detail oriented and thorough, she is very humble and caring. I always felt Melissa was looking out for my best interests and I felt I was in good hands. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to work with Melissa, who was always positive, upbeat and encouraging. My one wish is that I will be able to thank Melissa in person.Mahalo,Kathy Oyadomari

I recently sold my parent’s house in Honokaa. Being from Oahu, I contacted Coldwell Banker on the Big Island for a referral and was given Melissa Smith’s name. Melissa contacted me and guided me through the process from start to finish. She was able to complete the sale of my parent’s home in a few months, which surprised me. I really thought it was going to take a lot longer.Being that I live on a different island and not knowing anything about selling a home, she took control of everything that needed to be done on my parent’s house to ensure that I would be able to sell their house in a timely manner. Back in August of last 2023 Melissa Smith was recommended to me by yours and my rental agent Felicia Orian tosell my house at 64-252 Mamalahoa Hwy, Kamuela.Melissa took the time to listen to me and then was straight up honest with me. Noshenanigans. Melissa recommended a higher price than I thought and she was right. She took the time to take nice pictures and her husband used a drone to take aerial shoots. These were awesome. She let me know what I could do to help sell the house and what would be a waste of money for me to do. For those looking for a exemplary real estate agent I recommend Melissa Smith
of Island Properties Coldwell Bankers! I’ve just closed escrow on my
Kealakekua house, and Melissa guided me down that road extremely well. She
went above and beyond what I felt a realtor should have to do. She has a keen
attention to detail one would find in a wedding planner. I asked a million
questions and she was always right there with any info I needed. Her caring
manner shows through, I felt I could ask her anything.
My property was a rental with long term tenants whom I was quite attached to
and wanted the best for them during this transition. Melissa made sure
everybody was updated and even helped out the older couple on occasions.
I feel she represented me well as the sellers agent, kept an eagle eye out for all
the little details that come up in a sale of a house. I always felt she was right
there next to me, even though I live out of state. I finally got to meet her during
the final walk thru and felt like I had known her all along.
So, obviously I can’t say enough about Melissa, I’m hoping you will too.
